THE ONES WHO ARE CRAZY ENOUGH TO THINK THAT THEY CAN CHANGE THE WORLD, ARE THE ONES WHO DO.
– Steve Jobs
It was another successful gathering. If I am to do a Survey Monkey on this (once I figure out how), I am sure, this will be an easy answer to “How was today’s activity?” question. With the great rheumatology pillars Dr. Sandra Navarra and Dr. Juan Javier Lichauco behind an event, an outcome other than success is out of context. First and foremost then, as part of the organizing committee, I would like to thank and congratulate our beloved mentors for a successful meeting.
The success however is sweeter knowing that we have met the real goal of this forum -to bring healthcare providers together in our noble quest to address and understand lupus nephritis. Having our well respected speakers Dr. TM Chan and Dr. Neil Solomons jumpstart our day is more than we had hoped for. For this, we thank them, and of course Dr. Sandra Navarra, LUISA, St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Philippine Rheumatology Association for bringing them to us. We aimed to have a vivid picture of the status of Lupus Nephritis and its awareness in the country by starting with the primary institutions in the metro. A national registry and a unified Lupus Nephritis Group may still just be one of our many hopes in our lupus inspired advocacy. Still, someone has to start.
I am proud to have been part of this great beginning.
